ARE THE TATA'S INDIANS?

I have been argueing with a friend for sometime now and would want to share the story.Our heated argument was about "Tata" just before they acquired the Jaguar and Land Rover car making companies in the UK. Is TATA an indian? one friend of mine argues that the Tatas are not from india but from isreal. Let me first talk about Tata and india. There are three Tata titans: Jamsetji Tata, JRD Tata and Naval Tata.
Tata Group, a multi national conglomerate based in mumbai,India. In terms of market capitalization and revenues,Tata Group is the largest private company in india. It has interest in steel,automobiles,information technology,communication,power,tea and hotels.The Tata Group has operations in more than 85 countries across six continents and its company export products and services to 80 nations.The Tata Group comprises of 98 companies in seven different sectors,27 of which are publicly listed. 65.8percent of the ownership of Tata Group is held by the charitable Trust of Tata. Companies which form a major part of the group in clude Tata steel, Corus steel, Tata motors,Tata consultancy services, Tata tea, Tata power, Tata communications and the Taj Hotels.

The company is currently in its fifth generation of family stewardship. So i want to ask,are the founders of Tata Group Indians? My friend argues that the Tatas are Jews and come from Isreal.According to him the Tatas hosted the Isreali prime minister at their residence when the prime minister visited mumbai, india. How far is that TRUE? I argued that probably is because both parties have business arrangements to talk about.My friend claims that tatas are from the passe family and come from israel as a matter of fact. Its been baffling me alot and i know for sure that the Tatas are Indians. So readers is there a possibility that what my friend is saying is true?That the Tatas are jews and come from israel ?
