According to Forbes international rich lists 2008, Alhaji Akiko Dangote of Nigeria,with a net worth of $3.3 billion is the richest black person in the world,overtaking Oprah Winfrey who was listed as the only black billonaire for three straight years. South African Gold magnate Patrice Motsepes are the first black africans to ever appear on the Forbes international rich list.However , Mobutu, the Congolese president and Sani Abacha,the nigerian military leader were probably billoniares when they were alive but Forbes could never confirm this(according to Forbes magazine Kerry Dolan).
Akiko Dangote, a Nigerian,hit the jackpot when his sugar production company was listed on the nigerian stock exchange last year.Meanwhile proposed initial public offerings his flour and cement have stalled.Began his career as a trader at the age of 21 with a loan from his uncle,built his Dangote Group into conglomerate with interests in sugar,flour,salt processing,milling,cement manufacturing,real estate,textiles,haulage and oil and gas.He is closely linked to Nigerias former president,His excellency Olusegun Obasanjo.Afro-multiracial billionaires have also been identified. Forbes international richest list includes Michael Lee-Chin of Canada, who is of Chinese and Afro-Caribbean ancestry. Saudi-Arabian billionaire Mohammed Al Amoudi has black ancestry because his mother is from Ethiopia and people consider him to be the richest black person in africa. But i guess hes Arab.right?So if Akiko Dangote is not the richest black person,then who is..........?
